Amy Bloomfield Recognized as USD 446 September 2021. “Quality Teacher of the Month”
Mrs. Bloomfield is a first grade teacher at Eisenhower Elementary School. This is her tenth year teaching full time at USD 446. Her nomination states, “Mrs. Bloomfield is always here early and late to find new ways to help her students succeed. She always gives her students compliments, even when they are having a tough day. She always has a smile on her face, no matter what is going on in her life. She always shows so much love for her students.”
Mrs. Bloomfield attended Independence Community College after high school and graduated with her Associates of Science. She graduated from Sterling College in December 2011 with her Bachelors in Elementary Education. Mrs. Bloomfield says, “I have always wanted to be a teacher. I had some amazing teachers growing up in Sedan, KS, that inspired me to be a teacher. They truly cared about me, and they continue to support me years later. My favorite part about teaching is helping kids to believe in themselves and motivating them to do their best. I love getting to know each child and their family every year. I hope when my students leave my class they always have somebody they can depend on for the rest of their lives.”
Mrs. Bloomfield is married to Shawn Bloomfield. They have been married for 27 years. They met at ICC. She cheered, and he was a baseball player. They have three children: Madison, Cal, and Mallory. They also have the cutest grandson named Westly that is their whole world. She enjoys spending time with her family; they like to spend time outdoors fishing, kayaking, and camping.
According to USD 446 Superintendent Rusty Arnold, the “Quality Teacher of the Month” program was established to recognize exemplary teachers who motivate students to achieve excellence, work with others in the educational environment, and maintain positive relationships with parents and students.
